Monta Ellis exploded for a season-high 30 points to help the Mavericks beat the Timberwolves 131-117. Tyson Chandler added 12 points and 16 rebounds for the Mavericks, who converted 55 percent of their shots compared to the Timberwolves' 50 percent. Dirk Nowitzki scored 15 points and snatched three rebounds for the Mavericks, who are coming off a 53-point victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. J.J. Barea recorded 14 markers off the bench, and Chandler Parsons added 12 points to help the offensive charge for Dallas. Kevin Martin paved the way for the Timberwolves with 34 points and three rebounds on 4-for-6 shooting from three-point range. Shabazz Muhammad added 18 points and four rebounds for the Timberwolves, who have lost five of their last six road games. Mo Williams and Corey Brewer scored 13 points apiece for the Timberwolves, who committed 17 turnovers which led to 11 fast break buckets for the Mavericks. The Timberwolves will try to bounce back from their latest fiasco as they host Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
