Very important is a road loss of third ranked Toyama Grouses (10-3) against sixth ranked Sendai 89ers (8-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Toyama Grouses were crushed by Sendai 89ers in Sendai 97-65. The game without a history. Sendai 89ers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Sendai 89ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. American guard Kejuan Johnson (193-85, college: Long Beach St., agency: KMG Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Adrian Moss (204-81, college: Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. American forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Joho Masashi (183-82) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sendai 89ers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Loser Toyama Grouses keep the third position with three games lost. Sendai 89ers will again meet at home higher ranked Toyama Grouses (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyama Grouses will have a break next round.
