Regular Season Round 9: Bordeaux - La Rochelle 85-73

An interesting game took place in Bordeaux where higher ranked La Rochelle (4-3) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked JSA Bordeaux (4-4) 85-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Rochelle. The game was mostly controlled by JSA Bordeaux. La Rochelle was better in fourth quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American-Jamaican forward Justin Rutty (200-89, college: Quinnipiac) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Cameroonian guard Ralph Temgoua (196-87, college: St.Lawrence) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Spanish center David Mesa (202-80) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Jay Couisnard (198-88, college: UMKC) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for La Rochelle. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. La Rochelle's coach Gregory Thielin tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JSA Bordeaux have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Rueil and GET Vosges. La Rochelle at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. JSA Bordeaux's next round opponent will be higher ranked UB Chartres (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
