The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Malbas as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South. Malbas smashed 7th ranked Talje Knights in Malmo 89-35. The game without a history. Malbas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Talje Knights to just 7 points in second quarter. Malbas held Talje Knights to an opponent 20.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 56.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Malbas forced 21 Talje Knights turnovers and outrebounded them 45-22 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tobias Sjoberg (201-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Stefan Nguyen (190-92) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Malbas players scored in double figures. point guard Henrik Sjolin (178-97) answered with 11 points and forward Ludvig Swanstrom (196-96) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Talje Knights. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malbas (6-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Talje Knights at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Talje Knights will play next round against Haga Haninge trying to get back on the winning streak. Malbas will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Haga Haninge on the road.
