Ligaen round 8 most important game was a victory of Horsens IC over one of their biggest challengers Svendborg 91-69 on Monday night. The game without a history. Horsens IC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Svendborg's 26. Croatian forward Ante Gospic (203-90, college: Flagler) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Argentinian-Italian point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group) replied with 16 points and 9 assists and American center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Svendborg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Horsens IC (6-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Wolfpack. Svendborg at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Randers. Horsens IC is looking forward to face Wolfpack (#3) in Copenhagen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Svendborg will play on the road against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
