Regular Season Round 15: JAZZ-Diremta - Delikatesas 77-88

Bottom-ranked JAZZ-Diremta (0-15) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-77 loss to seventh ranked Delikatesas (9-6) in Kaunas on Friday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Delikatesas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Benas Bagdonavicius (202-91) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Sarunas Kulevicius (194-89) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Mantvydas Staselis (190-94) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Malcolm Hawkins (196-91, college: Norfolk St.) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four JAZZ-Diremta players scored in double figures. Delikatesas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. JAZZ-Diremta at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Delikatesas is looking forward to face Nafta-Uni. (#5) in Klaipeda in the next round. JAZZ-Diremta will play on the road against the league's leader Ezerunas-Karys (#1) in Moletai and hopes to get finally their first victory.
