The game in Isafjordur was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Valur (2-3) played at the court of seventh ranked KFI (2-5). KFI managed to secure a 9-point victory 71-62 on Saturday. Valur was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 18-8 charge of KFI, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Birgir Petursson (205-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Illugi Audunsson (196-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Danero Thomas (193-86, college: Murray St.) added 14 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively. KFI maintains seventh position with 2-5 record. Loser Valur keeps the sixth place with three games lost. KFI will meet league's leader Hamar on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Valur will play against Breidablik (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
