Regular Season Round 7: Karpos Sokoli - Rabotnicki 63-83

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Skopje: Rabotnicki (#4) and Karpos Sokoli (#2). Karpos Sokoli was crushed at home by 20 points 63-83 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game without a history. Rabotnicki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Rabotnicki outrebounded Karpos Sokoli 36-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Todor Gecevski (209-77, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Dimitar Mirakovski (177-81, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Serbian guard Aleksandar Vasic (185-87) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and swingman Vladimir Georgievski (194-82) added 14 points in the effort for Karpos Sokoli. Rabotnicki (4-1) moved-up to second place. Karpos Sokoli at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with MZT Skopje and Feni Indistrija. Rabotnicki will play against league's leader Kumanovo 2009 at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Karpos Sokoli's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Skopje to the arena MZT Skopje.
