A very interesting game took place in Karlovy Vary. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (1-5) to eighth ranked Aldast Strakonice (3-3) 63-60 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary won fourth quarter 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary 40-21 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Karolina Kubickova who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: N.Carolina St.) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Guard Blanka Sedlackova (171-84) came up with 13 points and 4 assists and American guard Sara Halasz (180-90, college: N.Mexico) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary in the defeat. Five Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary players scored in double figures. Aldast Strakonice moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kara Trutnov and BLK Praha. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Aldast Strakonice's next round opponent will be VS Praha (#9) at home. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary will play against Valosun Brno and hope to win that game.
