Mexico wrapped up their Central American and the Caribbean Games campaign with victory. The hosts defeated Costa Rica in the game for the fifth position. Carlos Toussaint stepped up with 21 points in the win. Mexico got to a slow start. Costa Rica ensured an 18:13 lead after ten minutes. Mexico cut the distance at 3-point mark at the interval 28:31. The hosts broke through in the third term. They triggered a 31:12 run to take a comfortable lead. Costa Rica sank 22 points in the fourth frame but could not avoid the defeat. Adam Parada chipped in 14 points, while Francisco Cruz added 11 points in the win. Kay Martinez responded with 26 points for Costa Rica. Jeffny Anderson had 13 points in the loss.
