There was no surprise when 14th ranked TBB Trier (3-8) lost on the road to seventh ranked ratiopharm Ulm (7-4) 93-77 on Saturday. TBB Trier was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 31-12 charge of ratiopharm Ulm, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while TBB Trier only scored three points from the stripe. They outrebounded TBB Trier 34-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. Serbian forward Boris Savovic (206-87, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (201-83, college: Richmond) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and American guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: Massachusetts) added 19 points in the effort for TBB Trier. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ratiopharm Ulm have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 7-4 record. Loser TBB Trier dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will face bottom-ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TBB Trier will play against the league's second-placed Bayern Muenchen and will have a slim chance for a victory.
