Regular Season Round 11: Gimbasket Wroclaw - Cieszyn 38-60

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Cieszyn and bottom-ranked Gimbasket Wroclaw had identical 0-9 record. But Gimbasket Wroclaw was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Cieszyn 60-38 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 60-38. Cieszyn dominated on the defensive end, holding Gimbasket Wroclaw to just 3 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gimbasket Wroclaw's 22. Cieszyn forced 22 Gimbasket Wroclaw turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Lukasz Ochodek (197-82) who scored 20 points. Center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Mateusz Kantarowski (198-93) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Bartosz Zajac (195-91) added 7 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cieszyn maintains tenth place with 1-9 record. It was Gimbasket Wroclaw's tenth loss in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Cieszyn will face higher ranked Pogon RS (#8) in Ruda Slaska in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gimbasket Wroclaw will play on the road against MCKiS Jaworz. in Jaworzno and hopes to get finally their first victory.
