Regular Season Round 14: Hokkaido L. - Aishin SH 79-90

NBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (14-0) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (4-12) in Saporro 90-79. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 34. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Michael Takahashi (198-74, college: CS Northridge) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-0 record. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play at home against Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
