Regular Season Round 12: Lourdes - Avignon-Sorgues 70-67

The most exciting game of round 12 in the NM1 took place in Tarbes. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Sorgues BC (5-6) to second ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (8-2) 70-67 on Tuesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sorgues BC. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sorgues BC won fourth quarter 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lourdes-Tarbes made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Sorgues BC turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian-American guard Andrius Ragauskas (189-79, college: CS Los Angeles) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and the former international point guard Xane Dalmeida (183-83) who added 11 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-British power forward Tafari Toney (202-86) with 19 points and 9 rebounds and American-Spanish forward Arnette Hallman (200-88) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lourdes-Tarbes maintains second position with 8-2 record having just three points less than leader St Chamond. Sorgues BC at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes are looking forward to face league's leader Saint Chamond on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sorgues BC will play against ADA Blois (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
