There was no surprise when 4th ranked Swedish Sodertalje Kings (0-4) were crushed on the road by first ranked German ratiopharm Ulm (3-1) 88-62 on Wednesday. The game without a history. ratiopharm Ulm led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sodertalje Kings' 30. They outrebounded Sodertalje Kings 38-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. ratiopharm Ulm looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Tim Ohlbrecht (210-88) fired 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Croatian forward Toni Bizaca (202-82, agency: XL Basketball Agency) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and Danish guard Darko Jukic (198-90, agency: Two Points) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ratiopharm Ulm maintains first position in Group A with 3-1 record. Defending Swedish champion Sodertalje Kings still closes the standings with four games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will face Den Bosch (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sodertalje Kings will play against the league's leader Enel Brindisi and hope to get finally their first victory.
