Second Stage Round 4: Shanxi - Jiangsu 81-86

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (9-3) against fourth ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (9-3) on Thursday night. Host Shanxi Rui Flame was defeated by Jiangsu Phoenix in a tough game in Taiyuan 81-86. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Shanxi Rui Flame won third quarter 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jiangsu Phoenix had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Yi Qiang (193-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and international point guard Xiaojia Chen (177-88) who added 24 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Jiangsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the losing side American Maya Moore (183-89, college: Connecticut) responded with 55 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Yue Zhang (184-86) scored 14 points. Jiangsu Phoenix have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Places 1-8, which they share with Shanxi. Jiangsu Phoenix will play against league's leader Beijing Great Wall on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shanxi Rui Flame will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng in Harbin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
