An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tokyo. Third ranked Tochigi Brex faced leader Hitachi Sunrockers. Guests from Tochigi (12-6) defeated host Hitachi Sunrockers (15-3) 88-76. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Tochigi Brex made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Yuta Tabuse (173-80, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 14 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Tochigi Brex's coach Thomas Wisman used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 14 points respectively. Four Tochigi Brex and five Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Tochigi Brex moved-up to second place. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers still keep top position with three games lost. Tochigi Brex will face Tsukuba R. (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa and hope to win that game.
