Regular Season Round 13: Quimper - Chartres 80-91
Date: December 6, 2014
There was no surprise when 14th ranked Quimper UJAP (3-9) was defeated at home by third ranked UB Chartres (8-3) 91-80. It looked good early as Quimper UJAP took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UB Chartres had a 26-12 second period charge getting the lead and Quimper UJAP was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-91. 25 personal fouls committed by Quimper UJAP helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Bahamas forward Bennet Davis (206-84, college: Northeastern, agency: KMG Sports Management) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and guard Gautier Lemon (191-84) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five UB Chartres players scored in double figures. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Quimper UJAP in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for UB Chartres. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Lourdes and Blois. Quimper UJAP lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with nine games lost. UB Chartres' next round opponent will be La Rochelle (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Quimper UJAP will play against GET Vosges (#8) in Golbey and hope to win that game.
