Regular Season Round 13: Mulhouse - Bordeaux 66-57

We should mention about the upset which took place in Mulhouse, where higher ranked JSA Bordeaux (6-6) lost to fifteenth ranked Mulhouse Basket (3-8) in a road game 57-66. The hosts were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 7-point deficit before their 23-7 run, which allowed them to win the game. Mulhouse Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding JSA Bordeaux to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded JSA Bordeaux 44-26 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Marcus Kitts (205-89, college: William & Mary) nailed 5 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Mulhouse Basket's coach Jamel Benabid allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Spanish power forward Roberto Morentin (206-81, college: Cent.Florida) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Gauthier Darrigand (184-82) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for JSA Bordeaux in the defeat. Four JSA Bordeaux players scored in double figures. Mulhouse Basket moved-up to thirteenth place. JSA Bordeaux at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Mulhouse Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed UB Chartres on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
