Regular Season Round 9: Lokomotiva - Kara Trutnov 91-88

A very interesting game took place in Karlovy Vary. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Kara Trutnov (4-4) to eleventh ranked Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary (2-6) 91-88 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kara Trutnov. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kara Trutnov won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard Hazel Ramirez (165-92, college: Loyola Mary) who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Her fellow American import guard Sara Halasz (180-90, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary players scored in double figures. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary's coach Tomas Vesely allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Lenka Pazderova (188-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Deja Mann (170-91, college: Arizona St.) added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Kara Trutnov. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Slovanka MB. Kara Trutnov at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Lokomotiva Karlovy Vary's next round opponent will be league's leader Sokol Hradec Kralove on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kara Trutnov will play against VS Praha (#9) and hope to win that game.
