There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Rio Claro (2-8) defeated on the road 13th ranked Brasilia (2-7) 85-73. Brasilia was ahead by 10 points at the halftime before a 51-29 second half run of Rio Claro. They made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Anderson Mosso (205-82, college: Chipola JC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Brandon Brown (180-89, college: Montana-West) contributed with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. The former international Lucas Cipolini (206-86, college: BYU-Hawaii) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds and international Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Brasilia. Despite that victory Rio Claro went down to fifteenth position due to points difference, which they share with Liga Sorocaba. Brasilia lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with seven games lost. Rio Claro's next round opponent will be higher ranked Unitri (#11) in Uberlandia and it may be quite challenging game.
