Regular Season Round 22: Trakai - Perlas-MRU 92-82

Round 22 in NKL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Trakai where host Trakai (14-8) beat league's leader Perlas-MRU (17-5) 92-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 27-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Trakai made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Perlas-MRU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Dovis Bickauskis (188-93) fired 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Tadas Rinkunas (195-91) produced 27 points and forward Antanas Udras (203-92) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trakai moved-up to third place, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga and Petrochema. Perlas-MRU at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Ezerunas-Karys who have the same record. Perlas-MRU will play next round against Delikatesas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Trakai will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Zanavykas in Sakiai.
