Regular Season Round 12: Szedeak - Kormend 93-83

Date: December 13, 2014
Very expected game when 12th ranked Kormend (2-9) lost to seventh ranked Szedeak (6-5) in Szeged 83-93 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Szedeak made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Kormend outrebounded Szedeak 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds by British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Kormend. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Szedeak have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alba. Kormend at the other side keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Szedeak will meet PVSK Pannon (#8) in the next round.
