Very expected game when 9th ranked Kolossos (4-6) lost to third ranked AGOR (7-3) in Rethymno 66-70 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. AGOR forced 20 Kolossos turnovers. Quite impressive performance for Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Angelos Tsamis (192-81) added 7 points and 8 assists in the effort for Kolossos. AGOR have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Panathinaikos. Loser Kolossos dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. AGOR will face AEK Athens (#6) on the road in the next round. Kolossos will play against PAOK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
