There was no surprise when 10th ranked Cieszyn (2-10) lost to third ranked MCKiS Jaworz. (9-3) in Jaworzno 63-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-63. MCKiS Jaworz. shot 21 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Cieszyn only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Cieszyn 49-37 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Lukasz Bak (210-81, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds. Power forward Daniel Goldammer (200-89) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four MCKiS Jaworz. players scored in double figures. Center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and forward Leszek Siwy (196-83) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cieszyn. Cieszyn's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. MCKiS Jaworz. moved-up to second place in Group C. Cieszyn at the other side keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. MCKiS Jaworz. will face AZS PCz (#7) in Czestochowa in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cieszyn will play at home against MKS DG 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
