Regular Season Round 14: Lourdes - Challans 77-67
Date: December 13, 2014
Rather predictable result when third ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (9-3) won against at home 6th ranked Vendee Challans (7-6) 77-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-67. The former international point guard Xane Dalmeida (183-83) notched 14 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach Alex Casimiri allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by Bahamas power forward Lavar Simmons (201-83, college: Master's) did not help to save the game for Vendee Challans. Scottish forward Gareth Murray (201-84, college: Kalamazoo Valley CC) added 13 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Lourdes-Tarbes moved-up to second place, which they share with Blois and Chartres. Newly promoted Vendee Challans keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Bordeaux. Lourdes-Tarbes will meet JA Vichy (#5) on the road in the next round. Vendee Challans will play against ADA Blois and hope to secure a win.
