Very predictable result when fourth ranked Blancos de Rueda (8-4) defeated on the road 9th ranked Lleida Basquet (6-6) 65-59 on Sunday. Lleida Basquet was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Javier Lucas (207-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) chipped in 10 points and 8 assists. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Francisco Guerra (214-92) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Gregory Kahlig (198-92, college: Findlay, OH) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Blancos de Rueda keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Loser Lleida Basquet dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Blancos de Rueda will face Leche Rio Breogan (#5) in Lugo in the next round.
