Very expected game in Dnepropetrovsk where 9th ranked Hoverla (4-11) was defeated by fifth ranked Dnipro (8-6) 86-79. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hoverla won fourth quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dnipro made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Dnipro outrebounded Hoverla 37-26 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Hoverla was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Vladislav Korenyuk (207-94) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-89) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists. Five Dnipro players scored in double figures. Dnipro's coach Valdemaras Chomicius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Mackey McKnight (183, college: Lehigh, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) came up with 23 points and 7 assists and Russian center Dmitri Lipovtsev (207-86) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Hoverla in the defeat. Dnipro moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cherkasy. Hoverla at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with DniproAzot. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
