Regular Season Round 12: Manital Torino - Sigma BRC 82-77
Date: December 14, 2014
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Sigma Barcellona (5-7) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Manital Torino (8-4) 82-77 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 44-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Manital Torino forced 20 Sigma Barcellona turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Sigma Barcellona was plagued by 42 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Guido Rosselli (198-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Tommaso Fantoni (204-85, agency: Players Group) who added 18 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Luca Garri (207-82) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian-Jamaican swingman Jevohn Shepherd (196-86, college: Michigan) scored 20 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Manital Torino moved-up to third place, which they share with FCM Ferentino. Sigma Barcellona at the other side keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Manital Torino will face bottom-ranked CZG Veroli (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sigma Barcellona will play against Angelico Biella (#7) and hope to win that game.
