Regular Season Round 12: Oradea - BC Timisoara 91-66
Date: December 20, 2014
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Oradea and 7th ranked BC Timisoara had identical 5-5 record. This time Oradea used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Timisoara 91-66 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-66. Oradea dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to BC Timisoara's 30. They outrebounded BC Timisoara 33-21 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Serbian Radovan Markovic (193-82) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 21 points and 7 assists and Bosnian Dalibor Persic (196-85) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for BC Timisoara. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Oradea (6-5) moved-up to fifth place. Loser BC Timisoara keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Oradea will have a break next round. BC Timisoara will play at home against CSU Sibiu (#4) and hope to win that game.
