Regular Season Round 21: Nova Ves - Karlovka 79-76

A very interesting game took place in Nova Ves. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Karlovka (9-12) to ninth ranked Nova Ves (6-15) 79-76 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Karlovka. They outrebounded Karlovka 35-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Stan Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Serbian power forward Aco Mandic (204-84) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nova Ves' coach Ivan Kurilla allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Ivan Zidzik (208-90, college: NW Nazarene) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and guard Dalibor Hlivak (190-95) added 17 points in the effort for Karlovka. Four Karlovka players scored in double figures. Nova Ves maintains ninth place with 6-15 record. Newly promoted Karlovka keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Nova Ves' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Rieker KN in Komarno and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
