There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Shimane Magic (6-18) outplayed at home 7th ranked Takamatsu FA (7-17) 108-78 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 61.8 percent from the field. Shimane Magic outrebounded Takamatsu FA 43-21 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Isiah Brown (203-89, college: E.Tenn.St.) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Shimane Magic's coach Tomohiro Moriyama felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 14 points in the effort for Takamatsu FA. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Shimane Magic have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 6-18 record. Takamatsu FA lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 17 games lost. Shimane Magic will face again higher ranked Takamatsu FA (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
