No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked ratiopharm Ulm (10-5) beat at home 9th ranked BBC Bayreuth (7-8) 84-80. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-13. But BBC Bayreuth won second period 28-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ratiopharm Ulm made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by BBC Bayreuth helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Slovenian guard Jaka Klobucar (198-87) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. International point guard Per Guenther (185-88) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). ratiopharm Ulm's coach Thorsten Leibenath allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Javon McCrea (201-92, college: Buffalo) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm moved-up to fourth place. BBC Bayreuth at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
