Regular Season Round 24: Shanghai S. - Beijing Ducks 115-106

The most important game in the last round took place in Shanghai between third ranked Beijing Ducks (18-6) and twelfth ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-12) on Friday night. Beijing Ducks were defeated by Shanghai Sharks in a tough game on the road 106-115. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 115-106. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Beijing Ducks' 44. Shanghai Sharks forced 19 Beijing Ducks turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 9 assists and power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) who added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Shandong FB. Defending champion Beijing Ducks keep the third position with six games lost. Shanghai Sharks is looking forward to face league's leader Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Jilin Tigers and are hoping to win this game.
