We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Sichuan where third ranked Henan (7-15) beat second-best Whale (7-15) 89-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Henan. Whale was better in third quarter 26-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Henan won last quarter 27-11. Henan outrebounded Whale 35-21 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was swingman Jie Sun (183-91) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Xiaomeng Chen (179-90) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and swingman Jun Yuan (180-88) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Henan and four Whale players scored in double figures. Henan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Places 9-12, which they share with Sichuan. Whale lost fifth consecutive game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
