Regular Season Round 25: Takamatsu FA - Shimane SM 68-72

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Shimane Magic (7-18) won against on the road 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (7-18) 72-68 on Saturday. Takamatsu FA trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-72 at the end of the game. Shimane Magic made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) chipped in 23 points and 6 assists (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). At the losing side American power forward Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Shimane Magic. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Takamatsu FA and Fukushima. Takamatsu FA lost their eleventh game in a row. Shimane Magic will have a break next round.
