Regular Season Round 26: Saitama Bron. - Okinawa GK 76-91

Bottom-ranked Saitama Broncos (0-22) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-76 loss to third ranked Okinawa GK (20-4) in Saitama on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Saitama Broncos was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 49-27 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Okinawa GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Ari Stewart (201-90, college: USC) added 23 points respectively for the hosts. Saitama Broncos' coach tested ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK maintains third position with 20-4 record behind leader Akita NH. Loser Saitama Broncos still closes the standings with 22 games lost. Okinawa GK will face Shinshu BW (#7) in Nagano in the next round. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Oita Heat Devils (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
