Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (6-10) was defeated at home by third ranked Giessen 46ers (11-5) 77-67 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Bjoern Schoo (213-81, college: Northern St.) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) who added 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Giessen 46ers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana, agency: Court Side) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and his fellow American import Levi Knutson (191-88, college: Colorado, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 16 points. Giessen 46ers moved-up to second place, which they share with Gotha. BV Chemnitz 99 lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Finke Baskets. Giessen 46ers will meet at home Kirchheim Knights (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against Oettinger Rockets Gotha and hope to secure a win.
