Very expected game when 16th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (2-14) were rolled over at home by fifth ranked Nuernberg (10-6) 84-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Nuernberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Cuxhaven BasCats' 24. Worth to mention a great performance of Stephan Haukohl (205-93, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Braydon Hobbs (196-89, college: Bellarmine) who added 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Nuernberg players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bill Borekambi (199-92, college: Sequoias CC) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized American forward Jeramie Woods (195-91) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nuernberg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Cuxhaven BasCats lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Nuernberg will meet at home Hamburg (#6) in the next round. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#8) and hope to secure a win.
