We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Wloclawek where 9th ranked AZS Polfarmex (6-8) was rolled over by tenth ranked Anwil (6-8) 87-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Anwil. AZS Polfarmex was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil shot 61.7 percent from the field. American swingman Chase Simon (198-89, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Italian center Andrea Crosariol (210-84, college: Fair Dickinson) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Anwil players scored in double figures. American power forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) scored 16 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anwil moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Polfarmex KT. Anwil will face higher ranked AZS Koszalin (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
