Regular Season Round 12: KK Split - Alkar Sinj 67-73

Very expected game when 9th ranked KK Split (4-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Alkar Sinj (8-3) 73-67 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Alkar Sinj dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to KK Split's 20. The best player for the winners was forward Nikola Gaurina (198-83, agency: Interperformances) who scored 28 points (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Forward Toni Vitali (203-91) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Alkar Sinj's coach Damir Milacic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Mateo Kedzo (206-84) who recorded 15 points and point guard Goran Filipovic (180-96) added 12 points respectively. Alkar Sinj keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kvarner 2010. Loser KK Split keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Osijek. Alkar Sinj will meet at home Vrijednosnice OS (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KK Split will play against GKK Sibenik and hope to secure a win.
