Regular Season Round 15: Sanaye - Gorgan 75-72

There was a small surprise in Mahshahr where ninth ranked Sanaye (1-12) edged 6th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (6-9) 75-72 on Monday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-14. But Shahrdari Gorgan won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sanaye won last quarter 17-15. They also forced 20 Shahrdari Gorgan turnovers. Shahrdari Gorgan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international guard Majid GhasemZadeh (187-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Farid Zarghi (203-79) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international Navid Farahani (194-88) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Mohammad Zarei (190-88) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shahrdari Gorgan players scored in double figures. Sanaye maintains ninth place with 1-12 record. Shahrdari Gorgan at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Sanaye will face higher ranked PMINA Esfahan (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
