Regular Season Round 15: Valga Kalev - Tarvas 85-97

The game in Valga was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked BC Rakvere (8-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Valga Kalev (2-8). BC Rakvere defeated Valga Kalev 97-85. After very bad start, Valga Kalev stormed back in the second period cutting the deficit to 1 point 52-51. But it was not enough and BC Rakvere took back the control in second half. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. BC Rakvere players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward David Haughton (198-91, college: Purchase) accounted for 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five BC Rakvere players scored in double figures. Latvian center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) came up with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (192-87) added 24 points and 7 assists respectively for Valga Kalev in the defeat. BC Rakvere moved-up to fourth place. Valga Kalev at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. BC Rakvere will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Valga Kalev will play on the road against TYCO Rapla (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
