Very predictable result in Sopot where sixth ranked Trefl (9-6) beat bottom-ranked Wikana Start (3-12) 111-94. Wikana Start was ahead by 7 points at the halftime before a 69-45 second half run of Trefl. They made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. Trefl players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Wikana Start helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Lithuanian forward Eimantas Bendzius (205-90) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Willie Kemp (185-87, college: Memphis, agency: KMG Sports Management) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Trefl's coach Darius Maskoliunas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Five Trefl and four Wikana Start players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Trefl. They maintain sixth place with 9-6 record, which they share with Energa Czarni. Wikana Start lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Trefl's next round opponent will be higher ranked Slask (#4) in Wroclaw and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wikana Start will play on the road against the league's second-placed Stelmet (#2) in Zielona Gora and hope to win that game.
