Regular Season Round 30: TianJin S. - DongGuan L. 100-112

There was no surprise in Tianjin where 13th ranked TianJin Steel (11-19) was defeated by ninth ranked DongGuan Leopards (19-10) 112-100. The game was mostly controlled by DongGuan Leopards. TianJin Steel was better in third quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international center Kai Zhang (212-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. DongGuan Leopards' coach Brian Goorjian allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) replied with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and center Ji Zhang (207-88) added 22 points and 14 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) in the effort for TianJin Steel. Five DongGuan Leopards and four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards moved-up to eighth place. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. DongGuan Leopards' next round opponent will be Jiangsu TX (#17) at home and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Steel will play against the league's second-placed Guandong Tigers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
