An interesting game took place in Jinjiang where higher ranked Shandong Bulls (14-16) were upseton the court of sixteenth ranked Fujian (8-22) 111-104 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 58-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fujian made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Fujian outrebounded Shandong Bulls 49-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) who recorded 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American forward Earl Clark (208-88, college: Louisville) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five Fujian and four Shandong Bulls players scored in double figures. Fujian maintains sixteenth position with 8-22 record. Loser Shandong Bulls keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Foshan LL. Fujian will meet at home higher ranked Qingdao Eagles (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Shandong Bulls will play against Foshan (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
