Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Karsiyaka (9-6) defeated on the road 12th ranked Usak (6-9) 88-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Karsiyaka. Usak was better in third quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 assists. Guard Jon Diebler (198-88, college: Ohio St.) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. Guard Courtney Fells (196-86, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) added 19 points in the effort for Usak. Usak's coach Ozan Bulkaz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Karsiyaka maintains sixth place with 9-6 record. Loser Usak dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Karsiyaka will face higher ranked Banvit BK (#5) in Balikesir in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Usak will play at home against Galatasaray (#7) and hope to win that game.
