Very predictable result in Huelva where third ranked Conquero (12-2) defeated bottom-ranked Mann Filter (3-11) 63-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Conquero led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Mann Filter's 18. They outrebounded Mann Filter 42-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American forward Adaora Elonu (185-90, college: Texas A&M, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Aja Parham (183-84, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Conquero's coach Gabriel Carrasco used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (168-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 12 points. Conquero moved-up to second place, which they share with Perfumerias. Mann Filter lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Conquero will face Gipuzkoa UPV (#9) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mann Filter will play at home against Campus Promete (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
