Regular Season Round 13: Bad Aibling - Wasserburg 63-85

DBBL top team - TSV 1880 Wasserburg (13-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Fireballs (1-12) in Bad Aibling 85-63. The game was mostly controlled by TSV 1880 Wasserburg. Fireballs managed to win third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSV 1880 Wasserburg forced 20 Fireballs turnovers and had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Emma Cannon (187-89, college: Cent.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Slovakian center Anna Jurcenkova (195-85) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Bastian Wernthaler felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Candace Williams (184-88, college: New Hampshire) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Abbey Duinker (190-91) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-0 record. Fireballs lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg are looking forward to face Rotenburg/Scheessel (#5) at home in the next round. Fireballs will play against ChemCats Chemnitz (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
