Regular Season Round 14: Al-Qazeres - Gran Canaria 68-66

A very interesting game took place in Caceres. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Gran Canaria (4-10) to thirteenth ranked Al-Qazeres (3-11) 68-66 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gran Canaria won fourth quarter 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian guard Nina Bogicevic (178-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. Center Yaiza Garcia (190-88, agency: Regeneracom Sports) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Vega Gimeno (185-91, college: Robert Morris, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) added 20 points in the effort for Gran Canaria. Al-Qazeres moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Mann Filter and Campus Promete. Gran Canaria at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Al-Qazeres' next round opponent will be higher ranked Universitario de Ferrol (#10) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
